Introducing the New 1:16 Scale Radio Control 'Porsche' Prototype Turret King Tiger

A lot of the hobby enthusiasts are drawn to this model mainly becase of the famous "Porsche" prototype turret, yet not many of them know the history behind it.  So, to elaborate on this subject, we translated the content into a short comic illustration, and composed the content into a new user manual.  Also, research documents have indicated that after 1943, the majority of the German Tanks were painted with Tan colour, as known as 'Dunkel Gelb'.  All tanks are painted with 'Dunkel Gelb' with minor weathering prior leaving the factory.

Take yourself back in time at early 1942, when the German Tiger I tank had first been rolling out from the production line. The ability of the Tiger I was quickly recongized by the allied force, and was considered one of the most fearful ground weapon at the time. Little did the allied force knew, the Germans had planned the Tiger II shortly after the development of the Tiger I.

The Germans were highly impressed by the robust design of the Soviet T-34, the sloped front armour design was particularly influencential to later Germans Tank, including the Tiger II. The front armor on the Tiger had been increased to a thickness of 150mm, so far there was no official record that proof any penetration through the Tiger II front armor during World War II.

There were two types of turret being used in the King Tiger. Known as the 'Porsche' and 'Henschel', production turret. Dr. Feridinand Porsche had designed his version of Tiger II for the contract. Krupp, the firm which was responsible for producing turret and main gun at the time, had manufacturered 50 unit of the Turret to fit Dr. Porsche version of Tiger II.

The King Tiger earned its fame with the powerful 88mm main gun. The main gun was capable to fire with a muzzle velocity of approximately 1000 m/s, it could penetrate 150mm of armor thickness at a distance exceeding 2200m. Due to high accuracy of the main gun, it could engage enemy tanks at a long range before the opponents weapons were even in range.

Precisely replicating the real King Tiger tank into 1:16 scale. Measuring at 66cm long, 23.5cm wide and 19cm tall. The Porsche Prototype Turret King Tiger 1:16 Radio control tank has every possible details you can find from an actual King Tiger.

All the accessories on the upper hull including Tow rope, shackles, tools ... etc are removable. The new chassis development now enable end-user to disassemble the upper hull from the chassis by just removing four screws underneath. This improvement makes it a lot easier for end-user to repair the tank as comparing to earlier models.

The tank is now equipped with the lastest Rx-18 circuit control unit. This unit is capable to manage multiple functions including Airsoft BB Bullet Shooting, Main gun barrel elevation, smoking & sound effect simulation and proportional driving speed module.

The Heng Long Premium & Waltersons King Tiger tank is now equipped environmental friendly Ni-MH Type rechargeable batery. The new Ni-MH Battery has a battery capacity of 3000mAh, which is twice the output of the standard 1700mAh Ni-Cd battery. The reason why we settled at 3000mAh, altought the battery capacity can easily reach upto 4500mAH with Li-Polymer battery, (commonly used in helicopter), through various duration testing, our result had indicated that the control unit and battery can maintain at a safe temperature with the Ni-MH Type battery.

The premium edition tank is now included with a EPE recycleable packaging. that goes along with a carrying bag, (A.k.a Tank Outdoor Gear). The EPE packaging is tailor made to fit this particular King Tiger tank, after fitting into carrying bag, and carton box. It passed drop testing standard up to 1 meter of height. Unlike polystyrene packaging in the standard box, there will not be pieces falling off from the EPE packaging. This carrying bag & EPE together is meant for multiple times usage.

The King Tiger is famously known because of its powerful 88mm main gun. But not a lot people knows the development history, and therefore Mr. Waltersons decide to elborate the development history with comic illustration.
